The function of the ribs of plastic part
Without increasing the wall thickness, add ribs to enhance product strength and rigidity, in order to save the amount of plastic to reduce weight and lower cost. Overcome deformation caused by uneven thickness. To facilitate the flow of plastic melt, especially for thin wall place.
Ribs design elements
With a lower height, numbers of ribs instead of a single height rib to avoid to sink on the back of the ribs.
The best arrangement is consistent with the direction of the ribs and melt filling direction.
Root of rib is designed to add radius, in order to avoid external force to break. But the root fillet radius can not too large, avoid appear sunken.
Usually not place any part on ribs.
Boss feature can't be too close the wall, avoid melt filling shortage for boss partial.
