We use plastic mold, mold cavity surface often wear and corrosion, serious will affect the appearance of the product quality, and even cause the molding difficult, so that the mold life is greatly shortened. So how to conquer this?
The mold surfaces strengthening treatment, not only can improve the mold surface hardness, wear resistance, but also can improve the anti fatigue effect of the mold,, thus greatly improving mold life.
Acieration
It has the characteristics of convenient control, low cost and easy control. However, if the grain is thick, the surface of the coating will be brittle, and the surface of the mold will be stripped. At the same time, because of the need to heat treatment, the deformation of the mold will be caused. Therefore, the high accuracy mold will not use this kind of surface treatment.
Nitriding
Nitriding is the heat treatment method of the surface of the nitrogen atoms at the specific temperature and specific medium. After nitriding, the surface hardness, wear resistance, anti fatigue strength and corrosion resistance are greatly improved. Nitriding and carburizing is different, it is carried out at a lower temperature, mold deformation is small, suitable for high accuracy requirements of the mold.
Therefore, almost all of the mold it is applicable. However, if there are hole or groove, the effect is not good to nitriding on the mold surface, for some of the complex enclosure of the plastic mold, not easy to heat evenly, access to the surface is not very uniform.
Total nitrogen carbon
Using this method, the mold deformation is small, fast, low cost. After this method to deal with the plastic mold surface, hardness is extremely high, anti adhesion, abrasion resistance and resistance, abrasion resistance, the service life can be increased by 2-5 times.
However, due to the expansion of the surface compound, the mold often deformed, so it is not suitable for precision plastic mold.
