The stages in the injection molding process

​The cycle time in the molding process could be divided into 4 stages: close mold, resin shot, cooling, and open mold/ eject the part. The time approx rate in the cycle time is as below:

• Close mold: 5-10%

• Resin shot: 5-25%

• Cooling time: 50-85%

• Open mold and eject plastic part: 1-5%

The main elements affect the injection molding cycle time, is the cooling time, secondary elements is the resin shot time. So the cooling time and shot time could be considered, if shorten the cycle time and improve the efficiency
